If you find that you need a richer set of features than what Word Starter provides, you can easily upgrade from Word Starter to Word. This article lists the differences in features between Word Starter and the full version of Word. Word Starter includes features that are basic to creating and working with documents, but it does not include the rich set of features found in the full version of Word. Microsoft officials revealed earlier this week during the introduction of its coming Surface devices that the company is planning to make Office 2013 Home & Student version what is "included" on the Windows RT Surface tablet later this year.Microsoft Word Starter 2010 is a simplified version of Word that comes pre-loaded on your computer. Originally, I had heard June was the target for the public beta, but now it's sounding like it will be in July. For Windows7/Office Starter 2010 users who want to upgrade their PC to Windows 8 and continue using Office Starter 2010, they will have to install an update to Microsoft Office 2010 which is available today.”Ī public beta of Office 2013 - the client apps, the server apps and the services - is expected to land sometime in the next few weeks. People who use Office Starter 2010 today will continue to be able to use the product for the life of their PC. After Windows 8 becomes available, most new PCs shipped will not have Office Starter. “We will begin to phase out the shipment of PCs with Office Starter 2010. Update: From a Microsoft spokesperson comes a confirmation and explanation: I've asked Microsoft if the company has any more to say about the apparent discontinuation of Office Starter. ![]() The 'Transition OPK' is now the only download available," said one of my contacts, who requested anonymity. "The website for OEMs to order Starter licenses is now disabled, and all of the links from the Office OPK pages have been pulled. Microsoft's note on its site about the new OPK states "Effective immediately, the Office 2010 Transition OPK replaces prior versions of the Office 2010 OPK." (There's a screen shot of the page embedded in this post, which can be enlarged by clicking on it.) This week, Microsoft introduced a new "Office 2010 Transition OPK" that removes Office Starter 2010. Microsoft has been making Office Starter 2010 available to OEMs and system builders as part of an OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK). Office Starter was designed to replace the Microsoft Works trial that is often preloaded on new PCs. Starter was designed to be ad-supported and provided free to consumers. Office Starter 2010 enables basic document viewing and editing only for Word 2010 and Excel 2010. There is believed to be a new Office Web Apps Server coming as part of the Office 2013 release. While preview code for the local versions of the Office 2013 apps has leaked out since the start of this year, there has been very little leaked information about what Microsoft has done to tweak Office Web Apps with the coming release. Microsoft is rumored to be beefing up Office Web Apps significantly with the Office 2013 (codenamed Office 15) suite. Office Web Apps are the Webified versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote that Microsoft announced in 2008. The word from my contacts is Microsoft will be guiding its OEMs to rely on Office Web Apps as the replacement for Starter, going forward. Microsoft was hoping Office Starter customers would decide to “trade up” and activate a more expensive, more complete Office 2010 version once they try Starter. Microsoft notified its OEM PC partners this week that it is starting to phase out Office Starter 2010, a stripped-down bundle of Word and Excel that it provided to PC makers to preload on new machines. Microsoft is starting to make changes to its distribution strategy for its Office suite, most likely in preparation for Office 2013. ![]()

![]() Despite this revelation, the Eds still decide to spend the money, without freeing Jonny. Double D then confesses that he recently found his magnifying glass as well, proving that there never actually was a serial toucher. While on their way to buy jawbreakers at the candy store, the Eds are stopped by Sarah who claims to have found her doll under her bed. ![]() The Eds then collect their money and punish Jonny by trapping him in a tire. This makes Jonny need to use the bathroom and in his desperation, he falsely confesses to the crime. However, when they give him no answers, he resorts to using Chinese water torture on Plank. Eddy interrogates Jonny and Plank after tying them to chairs in Double Dee's garage and hooking them up to a homemade lie detector. Eddy and Double D then jump out from behind a nearby bush and capture Jonny, accusing him of being the serial toucher. Impressed with Ed's hair cut, Jonny ignores the sign and rubs Plank against Ed's head. Jonny ( David Paul Grove) soon walks by, carrying his imaginary friend Plank, who is a board of wood. The three then form a plan, which has Ed sitting alone on a bench in the playground with a "Don't Touch!" sign around his neck. The Eds spread the word to the other cul-de-sac children, who offer them money if they catch the thief. Ed denies having done so, and Eddy concludes that there is a "serial toucher" on the loose. Not long after they arrive, Ed's younger sister Sarah ( Janyse Jaud) comes barging into his room, accusing him of stealing her doll. The two then go to Ed's ( Matt Hill) house. Convinced that it was stolen, he begins to have a panic attack but is calmed down by Eddy ( Tony Sampson). While organizing his room, Double D ( Samuel Vincent) notices that his magnifying glass is missing. The episodes can be bought as part of various season home media releases. Although Ed, Edd n Eddy was one of Cartoon Network's top-rated shows ever since its premiere and was largely well received, its pilot was met with mixed reviews. ![]() ![]() The score was composed by Patric Caird, who went on to compose the scores for all of the series' episodes. Series creator Danny Antonucci directed both episodes, co-writing "The Ed-touchables" with Jono Howard and "Nagged to Ed" with Howard and Mike Kubat. In "The Ed-touchables", the Eds try to earn money by hunting down the "serial toucher", who has been stealing the cul-de-sac children's belongings, while "Nagged to Ed" chronicles the Eds' first encounter with the obsessive Kanker Sisters, after they lure the Eds' into their trailer park home. The series follows Ed (voiced by Matt Hill), Edd "Double D" (voiced by Samuel Vincent), and Eddy (voiced by Tony Sampson), three preadolescent boys collectively known as "the Eds" and unofficially led by Eddy, who live in a suburban cul-de-sac. It premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States on January 4, 1999, although it had originally been scheduled to air on November 7, 1998. " The Ed-touchables" and " Nagged to Ed" are the two segments of the series premiere episode of the Canadian-American animated television series Ed, Edd n Eddy that serves as a half-hour pilot episode for the show. ![]() ![]() ![]() Paul Saints of the American Association joins Triple A East, and the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League now in Triple-A West. There are also two former independent clubs here, the St. The Iowa Cubs, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, and Omaha Storm Chasers have all been moved from the PCL to the “East”, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp got a nice promotion from the Double-A Southern League to the Triple-A East. Overall, Triple-A East is essentially the International League and Triple-A West is the old PCL but there has been some shifting around here. The official release did not indicate these names would be used going forward, instead listing them as (I’m told, “temporary placeholder names” of) Triple-A East, and Triple-A West. We’ll start with Triple-A, which was previously split up into the International League and the Pacific Coast League. Several teams were either bumped up a level or dropped down and three previously independent-league clubs have been invited and are now affiliated with Major League clubs. The four levels will be known as Triple-A, Double-A, High-A, and Low-A with the lower three of those levels split into three regional leagues, the Triple-A level remains at just two leagues. “We are excited to unveil this new model, which not only provides a pipeline to the Majors, but continues the Minor Leagues’ tradition of entertaining millions of families in hundreds of communities”, said Major League Commissioner Rob Manfred in the official release. “In modernizing our Minor League system, we prioritized the qualities that make the Minor Leagues such an integral part of our game while strengthening how we develop professional athletes on and off the field.” Though, again, this at the cost of many teams. The new system allows the Major League teams and their Minor League affiliates to be significantly closer to each other than before, in most instances, as well as an increase in salaries to Minor League ballplayers. ![]() What was previously fourteen leagues spread out over five levels is now eleven leagues over four levels, massive re-alignments were implemented to accomodate this and sadly dozens of teams were kicked out of affiliated professional baseball. ![]() The world of Minor League Baseball was completely turned on its head last week when Major League Baseball announced a total restructering of the entire system. ![]() |
